Mission
We aim to revolutionize mental health research through the exposome concept, employing longitudinal socioenvironmental and genomic data to gain insight into mental health and resilience trajectories. Our goal is to enhance early detection and prevention of mental disorders, and to translate our research into clinical practice and evidence-based policy for population-based intervention and precision prevention approaches to increase mental well-being and resilience within our community.
Vision
We envision that the exposome concept gains prominence in mental health research and practice, contributing to a shift toward an integrative framework that gives equal significance to socioenvironmental factors, genetics, and neurobiology. We have already demonstrated the potential benefits of a cumulative environmental risk score, such as the exposome score for schizophrenia for outcome prognostication and risk stratification.
Values
We believe that the most innovative solutions emerge from multi-disciplinary and international collaboration. Therefore, we foster partnerships across fields around the globe. We advocate for a shift from reactive to proactive mental health care by emphasizing primary prevention and early intervention. We uphold diversity, equity, and inclusion as essential pillars of our work, working to mirror the diverse, multicultural communities we serve.
